Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is all set to host a special event this Independence Day, OG vs NG: The Legacy Showdown! In this match-up, members of the competitive scene from 2019 -2021 (“OG”) will take on the current era (“NG”). This event is not just about winning, but about having two eras of players competing on the same stage.
Schedule, Format & Maps
The OG vs NG Legacy Showdown will take place over 2 days and consists of Day 1 on August 14, 2025, and Day 2 on August 15, 2025. The teams will be playing on classic maps, some special modes, and formats that fans have already been used to.

- Main Matches: Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, Rondo
- Show Matches in World of Wonder (WoW) mode

Prize Pool, Viewing Details, & Significance
The total prize pool is ₹8 lakh INR. The top teams will compete for the title, and there will be recognition for standout individual players.
Matches will be live-streamed on BGMI’s official YouTube channel with commentary in Hindi and English. There may also be giveaways for people watching the streams.
The OG vs NG idea gives recognition to the early competitive names of PUBG Mobile and BGMI while also putting the spotlight on the new players shaping the scene now. It is a chance for fans to watch old rivalries and new challenges happen in the same tournament.
