Mangalore Dragons wins Maharaja T20 Trophy 2025
Mangalore Dragons defeated Hubli Tigers by 14 runs (VJD method) in a rain-affected game in Mysore. The Dragon bowlers first restricted the Hubli Tigers to just 154 in 20 overs. Sachin Shinde took 3 wickets, while Macneil Noronha and Shreevathsa Acharya got 2 each. Sharath BR scored 49 runs off just 35 balls, making the chase so easy and helping the Mangalore Dragons to win the KSCA’s Maharaja T20 Trophy 2025.
Their journey to the trophy has been amazing; the team filled with players like Shreyas Gopal, Lochan Gowda, Sharath BR, Kranthi Kumar, and Macneil Hadley Noronha played well throughout the season. The team topped the league stage points table, securing seven wins in 10 games; they just lost two matches, and one match was abandoned due to rain. In the playoffs, they lost Qualifier 1 by a huge 110-run margin to the Hubli Tigers, but the team bounced back strong in the next game in Qualifier 2 by winning it by 7 wickets. The team beat Hubli Tigers by 14 runs (VDJ method) in the final.
BR Sharath and Lochan Gowda have been amazing in batting for the team. Sharth scored 392 runs in 13 matches, while Gowda smashed 360 runs in the same number of games. Kranthi Kumar finished the season as the highest wicket taker with 26 wickets in 13 games, while captain Shreyas Gopal led from the front by taking 17 wickets in 13 matches.
