The first match of the KSCA Maharaja T20 Trophy 2025 has concluded between the Gulbara Mystics and Mangalore Dragons at Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadeyar Ground, Mysore. The Dragons defeated the Mystics by 33 runs in the season opener thanks to amazing performances from captain Shreyas Gopal, Macneil Hadley Noronha, and Kranti Kumar. Gulbara Mystics captain Vijaykumar Vyshak won the toss against Mangalore Dragons and elected to field first in the season opener.

Dragons batters Lochan Gowda and Sharath BR give a decent start to the team. However, Shashi Kumar K’s and Luvnith Sisodia’s run-out to Gowda breaks the partnership, and Sharath also gets out on 16. Prithviraj Shekhawat bowled the number 3 batter, Aneesh KV, on just 9 runs. Dragons struggled a bit, but new batters Macneil Noronha and Aadarsh Prajwal controlled the inning.

Noronha smashed the first half-century of the season, scoring 53 out of 28 balls before getting out to Shekhawat. Prajwal also got out after playing a cameo of 18 runs off just 11 balls. Later the Mystics bowlers dominated the game and restricted the Dragons to 180 runs in 20 overs. Shekhawat took 3 wickets, while Monish Reddy and Vijaykumar Vyshak got 2 each.

While chasing the target of 181, Gulbarga Mystics’s batters give them a flying start. Luvnith Sisodia scored 26 runs off just 14 balls before getting out to Shreyas Gopal. Another opener, Gopal, also trapped another opener in his trap to give early momentum to his team. The next batters, Bangalore Mohith and Smaran Ravichandran, both lose their wickets for 11 runs. Mohith got run out while Noronha bowled Ravichandran.

After this, Prajwal Pavan played an anchor inning of 25 off 25 balls but was not able to hold the pressure built by Dragon’s bowlers. Shreyas Gopal and company dominated the phase and bowled out the opposition for just 147 runs and won the match comfortably in the end by 33 runs. Shreyas and Kranthi Kumar took 3 wickets each, while Ronit More and Macneil Hadley Noronha got 1 each.
