Mangalore Dragons lost both their openers, Lochan Gowda and Sharath BR, early. However, the next batters, Aneesh KV and Macneil Noronha, hold the inning after early pressure by opposition bowlers. After the pressure was gone, both started the counterattack. Aneesh scored 62 runs off 47 balls before getting out to Nithin Nagaraja, while Noronha smashed 56 runs off 49 balls. The next batters, Aadarsh Prajwal, S Shivaraj, and Kranthi Kumar, also contributed well and helped the team to put up the total of 195 in 20 overs.
While chasing the total of 196 runs, the Hubli Tigers lost their most important wicket, Mohammed Taha, who scored centuries in the last two games, on a duck. Opposition captain Shreyas Gopal trapped him in his spin. However, Prakhar Chaturvedi and Devdutt Padikkal continued the attack and got the momentum back.
The current highest wicket taker of the season, Kranthi Kumar, comes back to break the partnership as he dismisses Chaturvedi on 37 runs off 20 balls. Gopal quickly removes the next batter, Karthikeya KP, on 4 runs. Then Shinde gets the big wicket of Padikkal on 60 runs off 40 balls, and Dragons gets the upper hand in the match. However, Abhinav Manohar showcased his power hitting with 28 runs off 14 balls, but no other batters were able to score, and eventually they fell short by 16 runs. Kranthi Kumar took 4 wickets, while Shreyas Gopal and Shreevathsa Acharya got 2 each.
