On August 19, 2025, the launch of VALORNT in China took place, and its performance in the course of the first day was very successful. The game sold well, registering 170,000 downloads in iOS and making more than a million dollars in revenue, becoming the most downloaded app on Apple store at the time of release.
Record-Breaking First-Day Numbers

On release day, VALORANT Mobile manage to hit a series of milestones that highlight its immediate success:
- 170,000+ iOS downloads inside first 24 hours.
- More than $1 million (~£780,000) revenue gained.
- Took first place across all iOS downloads.
- Reached seventh spot in daily revenue charts.
- Ended 14th position on Apple’s overall top-grossing list.
These results are only from iOS platform, while Android data not yet revealed.
Partnership in Development and Gameplay Adjustments

This mobile version was co-developed by Riot Games with Tencent’s Lightspeed Studios, the same team behind PUBG Mobile. The focus have been to keep tactical depth from PC game, but at same time make changes so it fit better for phones.
Maps, agents and weapons stay close to original, but matches now finish after eight round wins instead of thirteen, making games shorter and faster. For launch promotion, Riot even worked with Canadian rapper BBNO$ on a music video dedicated for the game.
Focused Investment Toward Esports Future

Riot together with Tencent are also investing big for competitive ecosystem around VALORANT Mobile in China. Their venture TJ Sports announced 1.5 billion RMB investment (around $200 million / £150 million) to create structured esports growth.
This plan cover supporting collegiate level competitions and national tournaments, with first official circuit set to begin Q4 2025. Beside that, Riot also joined with OnPlus to run the very first major competitive event for the title later this year, building a strong base for esports scene.
